Bad Hofgastein is a ski and wellness resort that sits at an altitude of 859m in the district of St. Johann im Pongau. Being part of the extensive Austrian Gasteinertal ski area makes this resort popular with all abilities, with fantastic skiing and boarding opportunities for everyone.

Beginners can practice on the nursery slopes at Angertal, before moving up to the blue runs on the Schlossalm and Stubnerkogel. Bad Hofgastein is perfect territory for intermediates with an abundance of red and blue runs linked together. This combined with an additional 3 ski areas in the Gastein valley, make a total of 250kms piste for the intermediate skier to cruise. Advanced skiers will find exhilarating blacks on the Stubnerkogel and Graukogel and off-piste opportunities are good too.

Snowboarders are well taken care of with over 100 miles of rideable piste. Freestylers can also look forward to the half-pipe and snowboard park.

Low-key and varied is how best to describe the nightlife on a Bad Hofgastein ski holiday. There are a number of buzzing bars, cafés and discos to discover. A choice of restaurants offering anything from fine dining to hearty traditional fare can be found.
