Ellmau sits between the Kitzbüheler Alps and the dramatic Wilder Kaiser, at a height of 820m and is part of the extensive Ski Welt area. This traditional Tyrolean village offers a friendly, family atmosphere with a variety of runs.

There are some great confidence-building nursery slopes in the village centre for beginners just finding their snowfeet. The Ski Welt Circuit opens up an area of 280km of piste with a vast range of gentle and challenging runs for the intermediate. Competent skiers won’t be disappointed with the on and off-piste opportunities to be found on Söll's Hohe Salve mountain, with the Silleralm descent and the Eiberg slalom run.

Snowboarders will revel in the 150 miles of well groomed piste available to them. The terrain in Ellmau is considered a beginner’s paradise, while carvers will delight in the runs under the funicular. Then there’s Westendorf funpark to check out too!

The après skiing in Ellmau is fairly lively, mainly revolving around the many bars in the village, but there is a nightclub for the diehards. There are a number of excellent restaurants to be found in the centre, all offering a varied cuisine.  

For the energetic après skier, there are the usual Austrian winter activities available – cross country skiing, sleigh rides, winter walks and curling. But, if you want to relax those weary muscles, try a sauna or steam bath at the 'Kaiserbad' swimming pool centre.

With great skiing, stunning scenery and lots of activities, Ellmau has loads to offer the ski holidaymaker.
