Ischgl sits at a height of 1377m in the Paznaun Valley in Austria. This small farming village has grown into a sophisticated ski resort and has latterly become famous for its end of season mountain concerts, headlining global acts.

Beginners on an Ischgl ski holiday can find their feet on some easy nursery slopes, before moving on to conquer the trickier runs of the Ialpe bowl. Intermediates can tackle some challenging red runs, in preparation for the 12km run from the top of the Palinkopf down into Switzerland. For the brave and the advanced, there’s a good range of black runs and some great touring routes off-piste to try.

Ischgl is a snowboarder’s dream with lots of off-piste possibilities, great free riding terrain and one of the best freestyle parks in the Alps! But, having held the first ever snowboarding World Cup, you’d rather expect facilities here to be top notch.

There’s some of the best après ski to be had in the Alps here, with an abundance of bars and clubs. It even features a Pacha Nightclub! For those looking to keep their muscles toned off the slopes, ice skating, curling, winter walks and sleigh rides are all available. Indoor types can enjoy the facilities at the local leisure centre, where there’s a swimming pool, steam baths, sauna, bowling and indoor tennis.

Foodies skiing in Ischgl are well catered for, with a mixture of restaurants to choose from, ranging from Mexican to fine dining and everything in between. 

Known as the party capital of the Austrian Alps and packed with things to do, Ischgl is perfect for those craving some fun after a hard day on the slopes.
