Mayrhofen, located in the Ziller Valley, sits between the Penken and the Ahorn mountains and near the Hintertux glacier, which rises to a height of 3250m. A great all -round resort, offering rideable runs for skiers and boarders of all abilities

Beginners can start on the easy nursery slopes, before progressing to a number of gentle runs at the top of the Penken Mountains. Here the intermediate skier can hone their moves on a variety of reds, but the lift pass also covers the blues of the Kaltenbach, the reds of the Zell am Ziller and the ever snow covered Hintertux Glacier. The white knuckle riders of the advanced crew can tackle some challenging routes down the Penken Mountains to Schwendau. The Horberg ski area offers a number of energetic runs as well. And for the truly fearless, the steepest black run in Austria - 'Harakiri'.

Snowboarders can look forward to the Vans fun park, but also a number of challenging runs, both on and off piste.

Après skiing in Mayrhofen comes in a variety of guises. There’s an abundance of bars and discos for the indefatigable. For those who like to keep it sporty, tobogganing, bobsleighing, ice skating and snowmobiling are all popular pastimes here. The Mayrhofen ski holidaymaker who wants it low key might wish to take a sleigh ride, or stay indoors with a game of tennis or a swim.

There are plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from on your ski holiday. The shopping skier will be happy with the range of shops available in the resort.
