Niederau and Oberau lie in the pretty Wildschönau valley at a height of about 900m. These picturesque resorts are ideal for beginners and intermediate skiers, and families will be particularly happy here also. Oberau is a tiny village close to Auffach and Niederau, but it is not lift-linked. A free local bus service though links it to the other villages

A great range of beginner runs on the edge of the village of Niederau are perfect for wobblers just finding their snowfeet. The intermediate skier will be challenged by a variety of long pistes and tree-lined runs, with some excellent skiing to be had at Auffbach. Niederau offers some nail biting areas for the advanced skier, with exciting off-piste possibilities and a few decent black runs in the valley.

Niederau is a snowboarder’s paradise. Excellent tuition and easy blue runs to get you started. The more competent can take to the big fun park in Auffach with rails, a long half pipe and more besides. Then there’s the Race’n’Boarder Arena in Niederau used by the national ski team.

Lively après ski can be found in Niederau for those who want it, otherwise you can expect to enjoy some laid back fun in the village bars, cafés and restaurants. Oberau has more of a village type night scene to it.

Apart from skiing, Niederau provides the complete Austrian winter experience, with sleigh rides, winter walks and snow tubing on offer. The ski bus opens up the area to non skiers too with other villages served on the route.

Ski holidays in Niederau and Oberau ensure a friendly atmosphere, a taste of Tyrolean culture, fun in the snow and all wrapped up in a pretty winter wonderland setting.
