Sölden sits high up in Alps at an altitude of 1350m, hence its snow and skiing record is practically second to none. A snowboarder’s dream come true too though, with lots going on, both in the village and on the slopes.

Those starting out will get the most out of the slopes at the top of the Giggijoch gondola, before advancing to the numerous blues in the bowl. With plenty of challenges to be had on the glaciers and the "Big 3 Tour" to Schwarze Schneide, Tiefenbachkogel and Gaislachkogel, skiing in Sölden is ideal for intermediates. While the white knuckle riders won’t be disappointed with the 28km of black runs, the exhilarating 6km run in the Rettenbach Valley and the excellent off-piste opportunities.

Snowboarders should check out the BASE Park, where there are kickers, corners, tables, half pipes and rails galore. Gaislachkogel provides some great freeriding terrain, while novices can get to grips on the gentle runs of the Giggijoch. The Glaciers are also highly recommended, but you should really bring a guide with you.

Nightlife on a Sölden ski holiday is vibrant, with a plethora of lively après ski bars and nightclubs heaving till dawn. Restaurants and cafés are plentiful too, both in the town and on the mountain, so you certainly won’t go hungry

If you prefer something more atmospheric, then there are the usual activities – toboggan runs, sleigh rides, ice skating, curling and loads more. But, if you’d rather chill out, then the Sölden "Freizeit Arena and the Aquadome Spa in Längefeld are right up your street.

Sölden has the perfect recipe for a lively, fun filled holiday with lots of great skiing mixed in.
