Westendorf can be found in the Brixental valley at a height of 783m. This small, pretty ski village is part of Austria’s largest ski circuit, the Ski Welt area. It boasts its own ski area as well, with a great snowpark and easy nursery slopes.

Those new to skiing can cut their teeth on the nursery slopes convenient to the village, before moving on to the more testing slopes of the Laubkogel and Talkaser. Exciting runs on the Gampen Kogle and Choralpe area will test the mettle of the intermediates, not forgetting the possibilities available on the ‘Ski Welt’ circuit. The top of the Choralpe and hair raising ‘Death Valley’ should only be tackled by the most experienced skiers. Though, Westendorf offers some great off-piste runs as well.

Snowboarders will be happy to know that the Ski Welt has some useful terrain for them to test their skills.

There’s a lively après ski scene to be had when skiing in Westendorf, with a myriad of venues in the village and alongside the main return area for all the ski runs. From the indefatigable to the sleepyhead, this resort caters for everyone. For those who enjoy a good meal, there’s a fine selection of cafés and restaurants.

Apart from skiing, Westendorf provides the complete winter experience with sleigh rides, winter walks, ice skating and toboganning on offer.

With everything easy to find and within walking distance, Westendorf is the ideal ski holiday destination for families too.
