Borovets is found in Sofia Province, on the northern slopes of Rila, and sits at an altitude of 1350m. This established ski destination, known for its competitive prices and great après ski, is popular with skiers from around the globe.

Beginners fare well at this resort, with its nursery slopes, friendly ski school and all within walking distance of the Samokov. The more practiced will enjoy the range of runs on offer to them - all easy to get to, using the well planned lift-system, designed to get skiers on to the mountain with minimal fuss. The able skier seeking more of a thrill should head to the World Cup run or one of the more arduous slopes in the Yastrebets area. Though there are a number of exhilarating and scenic off-piste possibilities too when skiing in Borovets.

Snowboarders will be happy to know that Borovets boasts the best rideable conditions in Bulgaria. Here the terrain offers up open pistes, together with tree lined boarding. The half pipe at Rotata is also worth an attempt.

Nightlight on a Borovets ski holiday is vibrant and centres around the lively bars. Eating out is cheap and there’s a great choice of restaurants to sample, all offering a diverse cuisine.

Off piste activities are wide and varied, with something to suit every taste – from the very active to the couch potato. Skidooing, bowling, sleigh rides, swimming and massage are all available.
