Maspalomas is a quiet relaxing resort on the southern tip of Gran Canaria, set among beautiful scenery.

The resort, which is next door to lively Playa del Ingles, is popular for family holidays, as it has one of the island’s best beaches. Stretching for 6 kilometres, it is backed by famous sand dunes, separating the resort from its neighbour Playa del Ingles.

With some dunes almost fifty feet high, they have been declared a protected wildlife sanctuary and are a very popular tourist attraction. They are perfect for some secluded sunbathing, while camel rides are a great way to explore them. Watersports, two waterparks and a few amusement parks are also available.

Holidays in Maspalomas are low-key and relaxed, with a healthy serving of lively bars and shops, along the beach front. The area around the lighthouse, known as ‘Faro’, is also packed with charming restaurants. For those in search of wilder nightlife, it can be easily found in Playa del Ingles.

With a world-class beach, famous sand dunes and close proximity to one of the liveliest resorts on the island, Maspalomas has it all.
