Matagorda lies on the outskirts of Puerto del Carmen and is a fantastic spot for a summer or winter holiday.

A quiet and relaxing resort, Matagorda is best known for its long sprawling beach. Its favourable winds and fast-running tides mean that it is very popular with windsurfers.

The resort is quieter than others in the area, but it has a good range of shops, bars and restaurants serving all types of cuisine. For a bigger selection, or a wild night out, bigger Puerto del Carmen is only a short distance away. The capital Arrecife, to the east, also has fantastic shopping. 

Excursions can be made to the nearby beautiful upmarket marina at Puerto Calero, only a few miles away. Boat trips can also be taken to the beaches at Papagayo.

With plenty of charm and peacefulness and the facilities of Puerto del Carmen only a stone’s throw away, holidays in Matagorda are very appealing.
