Costa Adeje is on the southwest coast of Tenerife and a suburb of the large resort of Playa de las Americas. Not too busy or too quiet, it is very popular for couples and family holidays.
The resort centres around the black volcanic sand beach at Playa de Fanabe. Though relatively small, it has an array of watersports, including excellent scuba diving. A colourful promenade, lined with shops, bars and restaurants, backs the beach and connects the resort with its neighbours. The old town of Adeje lies just a bit inland and exudes history and culture.
Costa Adeje is very popular among families, with plenty of activities, such as tennis, bowling and go-karting. It also offers Sky Park, an adventure sports centre, as well as an Aqua Park and a zoo. While the resort itself has a calm atmosphere, its neighbour Playa de las Americas has some of the wildest nightlife on the island.
A highlight of a Costa Adeje holiday is the ‘Barranco del Informo’, the deepest ravine in the Canary islands. A 16 kilometre walk can be taken through its steep walls.
