Puerto de la Cruz is a popular tourist resort on the north coast of Tenerife. A historic old town, it is the perfect mixture of a traditional town with modern facilities.

The main beach at Puerto de la Cruz is the sandy Playa Jardin, while rockier beaches are located on either side of the resort. Watersports, in particular diving and a large aquapark, Lago Martianez, are available.

The old town is picturesque with narrow cobbled streets and historic buildings. The tree lined ‘Plaza del Charco’ is the heart of the town and a popular place for street performers. The newer part of the town lies at the east of the resort and is home to many colourful shops, bars and restaurants.

Away from the beach, there is plenty to do and see on holidays in Puerto de la Cruz. Nearby Loro Parque has the largest parrot collection in the world and the largest dolphinarium in Europe. The Botanical Gardens, San Felipe Castle and the National Park of Mount Teide are also worthy excursions.

Old and charming with a vibrant atmosphere, it is no wonder that Puerto de la Cruz is such a popular holiday destination.
