Split’s old town, with the amazing Diocletian Palace, is soaked in history and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is also picturesque with lovely squares and a wide seafront promenade.

The city has an extensive range of bars, cafes and restaurants. The atmosphere is energetic by day and its nightlife is lively and youthful. Evenings can also be spent at the folklore shows and music concerts that regularly take place.

Split has plenty of beaches, the central sandy Bacvice beach and the Firule and Ovcice, on both sides of the city. All three have excellent facilities for watersports, like sailing and surfing. Day trips can include the Marjan Forest Park and zoo, with superb views of the city and the nearby islands of Hvar and Brac.
