There are plenty of nursery runs for beginners skiing in Avoriaz giving them the confidence to progress. And being the world's largest linked ski area, Portes du Soleil opens up vast opportunities for the intermediate, with plenty of suitable challenges. The experienced skier really is spoilt for choice here, with over 20 black runs available. Then there’s the mogul run on the 'Wall' at Avoriaz and the World Cup Downhill from the top of Les Hauts Forts to get the heart thumping! Not to mention the numerous off-piste opportunities.

As for skiers, Avoriaz is the perfect playground for snowboarders of all styles and abilities. The ambitious can check out ‘The Stash’ snowboard park and the Hauts Forts area. And there’s lots of terrain ideal for beginners.

Après ski here is vibrant, with no end of things to do and every taste ably catered for. Choose from lively bars, or relax over a meal in one of the many restaurants.

To complement your Avoriaz ski holiday, why not include a sleigh ride, some snow shoe walking or a twirl around the local ice rink. The more adventurous might like to try parapenting or book a helicopter ride. Though if you’d prefer something less chilly, the sports centre with its sauna and solarium will sort you out.
