Efterpi Or Argiro Houses

Efterpi and Argiro houses can both be found in the village of Mavrikiano, overlooking Elounda.

Efterpi can accommodate 5 people in 2 different areas. The entrance to Efterpi leads to a small courtyard with an open sitting area and a complete summer kitchen.

Argiro can accommodate 5 people in 3 different areas. Argiro is a traditional stone house, built in 1905. Rebuilt in 1930 and again in 1965, when it was bought by the well-known architect Theodosopulos, who restored it as it is seen today. Stone steps from the street lead into the small stone courtyard festooned with flowers

Important note: due to the many original design features, and the care taken to retain the original character of the properties during restoration, the Traditional Homes of Crete are not suitable for those with mobility/balnce issues or for children. Care should be taken when on roof terraces/balconies/mezanine floors and staircases, as some properties have open staircases and elevated floors. Some roof terraces and balconies have low protective walls or railings with large gaps. These features have been kept to allow guests a true experience of the way Cretan people lived over a hundred years ago.
