Perissa is a fantastic beach resort on the south east coast of Santorini, 2 miles from the nearby beach resort of Kamira.

Seperating the two resorts is a huge rock, a local landmark known as Mesa Vouna, which is lit up at night. Holidays in Perissa focus on the resort’s famous beach, said to the best on Santorini. The volcanic black sandy beach stretches for five miles along the coast to Kamira and has some of the best watersports facilities on the island.

Perissa offers a lively atmosphere by day and night and has a large selection of bars, restaurants and nightclubs. The nightlife is varied and energetic, but never becomes excessive. A local waterpark also gives the resort an excellent alternative to the beach.

The surrounding countryside is ideal for walking and hiking and boasts plenty of sights to be discovered. A stroll to the nearby village of Emporio gives a glimpse into traditional Cyclades architecture, while the 19th century monastery and local church are breathtaking. Beautiful Oia village, the capital of Thira and the Minoan settlements at Akrotiri are also easily reached.
