The beaches in Lagos are some of the most beautiful in the Algarve including Praia de Dona Ana which is only a 25 minute walk from the centre of the town, Praia de Camilo and Meia Praia which stretches 4 kilometres east of Lagos.

Once a small fishing village, Lagos is now an important town with an attractive new marina. There are numerous restaurants, offering a wide variety of menus from traditional Portuguese, to the exotic Far East. There are many bars and discotheques to keep one entertained in the evening. The Cultural Centre has regular exhibitions and holds Concerts and theatrical events in the auditorium. Another open-air auditorium, set within the west walls, also hosts entertainment in the summer.
