Montechoro is an animated resort, closely linked with Albufeira, the Algarve’s largest and busiest tourist spot. It is ideally placed for access to beaches, comfortable facilities and the famous ‘Strip’.

This long street is dedicated to non-stop entertainment and is lined with restaurants, sports bars, disco bars and nightclubs.

The best beach to visit on a Montechoro holiday is at Praia d’Oura, just a ten minute journey away. It’s known as the ‘Golden Beach’ due to the fabulous sands that line its crescent shaped bay.

Holidaymakers can still gain both an insight into a more authentic Portuguese way of life and a little respite from Montechoro’s enthusiasm in the Old Town of Albufeira. Perusing its open-air market, pavement cafes and traditional seafood restaurants is the perfect way to spend a gentle afternoon, before heading back to the boisterous Strip.
