Porches is an authentic Portuguese village, remaining somewhat untouched by tourism. This picturesque hamlet is enveloped by orange groves and is renowned for its pottery industry.
The resort lies inland, west of the Algarve’s busiest holiday resort, Albufeira. Its village is a mesh of narrow cobbled streets, among which visitors will find workshops where they can watch the production of handmade ceramics.
Porches has some impressive castle ruins for sightseers to explore and plenty of quaint restaurants and bars to spend the balmy evenings in.
A holiday in Porches will leave visitors very well placed to enjoy all that the Algarve has to offer. It lies just 5 kilometres from the wonderful beach at Armacao de Pera. Should all the peace and quiet of this village resort become tiresome, a trip to the heaving tourist centre of Albufeira is a must.
