Kalkan is a compact Turkish resort sitting in a picturesque bay. It remains mostly untouched by mass tourism and displays an unhurried pace of life.

Although it has no beach as such, there are bathing platforms which can be reached by frequent shuttle boats. There is also a well known beach at nearby Kaputas.

As with most Turkish resorts, fascinating historical sites are never too far away – Roman and Byzantine ruins can be found in the areas surrounding Kalkan.

Life in the village is still very much focused on fishing and is typically Turkish. The charming harbour area and the winding streets radiating from it offer quaint cafes, restaurants and bars.
