We stayed here at the very start of the year as we were looking for a bit of winter sunshine. The resort is close to the airport, but not so near it’s noisy. We just got a taxi from the airport, they were lined up outside so we didn’t need to bother about booking transfers. We had a very spacious bungalow with a patio area. The pool was very near our room and had a small snack bar as well which was nice. Other people weren’t so luck though, and had a good 10 minute walk to get to the swimming pool. The beach was only a short walk and we passed loads of pubs and restaurants on the way. We went exploring one day and found it only took us 30 minutes to walk to the airport, so we stayed there for a while watching planes fly right overhead which was brilliant. The food was really good and different every night. There were shops about 5 minutes walk where we could buy warm, fresh baked bread every morning and cheese and meat which was yummy.

The bungalows are great. The towels could be newer and renewed more often. The staff are excellent and very helpful. This is our sixth visit to the Gaviotas. It’s very close to the beach and also has lovely swimming pools some of which are heated in the winter. Close to pubs, restaurants etc
