Palm Marina - The Truth

Spent without a doubt the best week ever on a sun holiday in this hotel. On arrival (due to delays at Dublin airport) we got there at 5am, all pretty tired and fed up. They had expected us, had a smaller restaurant open with continental breakfast and a few kids nibbles and the offer made to select what we want to take to our rooms. Small gesture but was a lovely welcome. I had read reviews on other sire AFTER I had booked our last minute break and began to worry! I have no idea why people write such nonsense! We had 2 rooms at the hotel and both were spotless, up to date and more importantly COMFORTABLE. I like to sleep with 2 pillows, I actually thought I'd get one on day 2, no more than 5 mins passed before one arrived at the door. I could sit here for the next hour typing good things about this hotel but I don't have the time so here is a brief insight... It's a fantastic family option, teenagers and 8 year old had a ball and never once had even the vaguest opportunity to get bored. If they were not on the beautiful private beach they were in or at the pool. The pool was meticulously clean and as an early riser I saw the cleaners doing their maintenance on the pool starting at 5.30am. The animation team were so varied there was a different show theme every night and there was a kiddie entertainment section from about 7.30. A super idea as the kids all loved it and wore themselves out taking part!!! Members of the animation team also did various adult fun activities that had quite a following from pool aerobics to step aerobics to volley ball, Arabic lessons and so many more. The team were faultless and I just wish I had a bit of their energy... they seemed to go all day long and still have time for the guests to have a chat. Food.... one problem.... too much to chose from and as one who loves their food I had to promise myself that I would only take one plate! Kids are used to home cooking and loved the variety and the main breakfast favourite was pancakes cooked in front of you... I'm sure we well over indulged! There is nothing I could find to fault this hotel on, I'm a fuss pot and like my comfort and this place ticked all the boxes. Simple things like the mini bar man calling and asking what we'd like in the bar as opposed to what they put in it, we prefer juices to soft drinks, once he was told we got truck loads of every juice under the sun (all free by the way!) The bed linen and towels were changed every day and the level of cleanliness in the hotel (all areas) was second to none. It's easy to get high on holiday fever and want to book straight away on returning home, I've been home two weeks and have booked a break in October. I have never in a well traveled package holiday career returned to any place..... until now. All five of us have agreed we all want to go back. The only change I'll make next year is that we'll stay or longer!! Hope this helps in making your plans!
