Olhos D’Agua is a small Algarvian resort that still works as a fishing village. It is popular with visitors who wish to have a relaxing holiday in a peaceful environment, yet stay within easy reach of busier and larger resorts. The most vibrant resort in the Algarve, Albufeira, lies just a few kilometres away.
The resort gets its moniker, “Eyes of Water”, from the unusual freshwater springs that appear on the sandy beach when the tide is out. Its shoreline has many more attractions to offer – snorkelling in secluded coves and ideal conditions for windsurfing. The sandy beach at Praia D’Agua is never too crowded and is flanked by lovely pine covered cliffs.
There is a gentle nightlife in Olhos D’Agua, with a modest selection of restaurants and bars. Laid-back evenings can be spent strolling along the newly-built promenade or through the typically Portuguese main street.
For a livelier time on your Olhos D’Agua holiday, take the short journey over to Albufeira for the night.
