Puerto Mogan is a quaint resort on the southwest of Gran Canaria and is considered one of the most attractive on the island.
Built around a stunning marina, the picturesque resort is known as ‘Little Venice’, due to the many footbridges arching over the canals. The former fishing port has retained its charm with pretty, white-washed villas and fishermen’s cottages surrounding the bustling marina. Popular with the sailing community, the marina is regularly packed with all types of boats and yachts.
Days can be spent exploring the town’s wonderful narrow streets and alleyways, while evenings can be spent at the lively bars on the bustling promenade. Holidays in Puerto Mogan give access to some of Gran Canaria’s finest restaurants, with pleasant international and seafood restaurants lining the marina.
Puerto Mogan is very popular for family holidays, thanks to its sheltered beach with sand from the Sahara Desert. Snorkelling and scuba diving are at the beach, while a waterpark is in neighbouring Playa Taurito. A funfair and a large golf course are also in the resort and the famous sand dunes of nearby Maspalomas should not be missed.
