San Agustin on the southeast coast of Gran Canaria is the oldest resort on the island.
Smaller than many other resorts in Gran Canaria, San Agustin is calm and peaceful, having managed to retain its charm. Home to a small beach, the resort shares an 8 kilometre stretch of coastline with nearby larger resorts, Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas. The beach with dark volcanic sand tends to be less crowded than beaches further south and is perfect for swimming, snorkelling and diving.
With a promenade lining the beach with shops, bars and restaurants, holidays in San Agustin are ideal for a relaxing break. It is also popular for family holidays with two water parks, a funfair, an amusement arcade and various theme parks all nearby.
The resort is quiet, but if the atmosphere becomes too subdued, then Playa del Ingles with its lively nightlife is only a stroll away along the promenade. San Agustin is however, home to one of Gran Canaria’s two casinos, perfect for some evening entertainment. Excursions can include dolphin spotting in Puerto Rico, camel safaris at the sand dunes at Maspaolmas or the Crocodile Park at Aguimes.
For a resort with total relaxation and a sprinkling of fun activities, San Agustin is the place to choose.
